Surfaces is a series of five photographs made at a single site during a winter freeze. The images approach the landscape as a field of contact rather than a view into distance. Ice, debris, and reflection compress depth into a shallow, unstable plane where distinctions between surface and image begin to dissolve. Produced as archival pigment prints, the work emphasizes the tactile presence of the photograph, allowing the material surface of the print to echo the conditions it depicts.
